This post from a wonderful blog called ParentHacks.com tells of an interesting way to "spin" getting flu shots for kids: call them "vaccinations".

Reminiscent of "collateral damage" as "civilian deaths"; possibly more effective. Now I guess we can't say that political spin doctors have contributed nothing to society.

This article has a good suggestion about how to avoid the high cost of wrapping paper and its utter unrecyclability (I made up a word!).

The article suggests white craft paper, but I would suggest brown paper to avoid the bleaching needed to make white paper.
