Since being home on maternity leave I've been venturing out with the kids during non-rush hour times. It's really surprising how many bad drivers there are out there, and how these bad drivers think they own the road - the entire road.
Today, after dropping my eldest off at daycare, I was making a left hand turn onto a 2-lane road. The light was green and the coast was clear as the oncoming car was turning right, so I made my turn and landed safely into MY lane. Well the buttface driving the silver Neon didn't realize that he is supposed to share the road and he turned into my lane, missing my car, carrying my 8 week old baby, by literally INCHES. Honestly people, it was so close I thought we were going to get pushed onto the median and I was preparing for the impact.
Infuriated by such a jackass move, I honked my horn and was told, by his hand gesture, that I was indeed #1 in his books. The next stoplight was red so I pulled up beside him and motioned for him to roll down his window; he refused. I mouthed a very vulgar word at him and we both proceeded through the intersection as the light had now turned to green. He kept pace with me and was yammering on about something while making gestures at me. I'm not overly proud of sharing in his juvenile behaviour but sometimes you have to retaliate, so I did (I won't say WHAT I did though, but I give myself full points for creative gesturing).
I wish I had a phone with a camera so I could post a picture of this guy along with this blog. Silver Neon guy, wherever you are, if my 2 year old can share so can you.
